Ministry: "In January 1930 I commenced my life's work at the Mt. Margaret Mission, Morgans, W.A. where I remained for 14 years except for a period of ten months, when I left to establish a mission at Kellerberrin...It became necessary for health reasons to seek a cooler climate. As the United Aboriginal Mission, with which I had been affiliated for 14 years, was interdenominational but Baptistic, I decided to work independently on Presbyterian lines which would be true to the Word of God, and so the work among the Noongaar people of the Great Southern began. My beloved father was a great source of help and encouragement. When he passed away eleven years ago [this was written in 1965; Rev. A.E. Jones would then have died in 1954], I felt I had to secure the continuity of the work with a Board who would be Evangelistic and sound in the faith. The Lord led me, in answer to prayer to W.P.M. and I praise Him for this and for the confidence He has given that the people so dear to me, will be ministered to faithfully by them. To God be the Praise and the Glory." [signed, Mary Graham Jones] | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
