On April 11, 1965, the Reformed Presbyterian Church in North America, General Synod merged
with the Evangelical Presbyterian Church [formerly the Bible Presbyterian Church, Columbus Synod],
to become the Reformed Presbyterian Church, Evangelical Synod.
Rev. Meiners continued on as Stated Clerk for the newly formed RPCES.

On July 10, 1982, the RPC,ES came into the PCA through the process of joining and receiving.
Dr. Gilchrist later served the PCA as its Stated Clerk for eleven years, from 1988 until 1998.
